Decision Zombie Shooter

The undead of the Decision zombie shooter game are an unrelenting horde of bloody minded creatures in the best classic sense of the horror game genre. The game’s title might seem odd for this type of game which usually throw in the words dead, apocalypse, zombie, revenge or something in that syllabic line, but Decision is a perfect title for this unusually frightening and cerebral addition to the online gaming world.

There is a mash-up of style here from the basic horror and shooter to more strategic and somewhat arcade like elements. Most zombie shooter games focus on one small band of civilian survivors hiding out and blasting any of the oncoming undead that get near their hideout. You’re a survivor in these games, struggling to defend yourself. The Decision zombie shooter game flips the script. Here you aren’t struggling to survive, you’re the hunter, a scouting member of a militaristic group that is attempting to take back the cities the undead have taken over. This group seeks out the zombies, it doesn’t simply try to survive waves of them.

Choose your task, like hunting zombies down to make a zone safe, or capture a tower, generator or other strategic device to help take control of a zombie infested city. When you accomplish these you’ll earn upgrade points that can be used to improve your weapons, from a lonely pistol to one mean shotgun…or better (we’re talking Bazooka here!) or upgrade your skills, which is sometimes necessary to complete missions. It will take some practice to control the character, it’s difficult at first, but once you get the mix of keyboard and mouse control down you’ll become one bada** zombie hunter. There are tough decisions to make in this game (obviously) and it is not for the faint of heart, the deep shadows and hard-to-kill zombies will keep your pulse rate at a constant 120 bpm.

The Last Stand: Dead Zone

The Last Stand: Dead Zone is a real time strategy game that will test your survival skills and massage your heart muscle with adrenaline when your back is up against the wall and you’re facing down dozens of inhuman foe. Do you remember when the original “The Sims” game came out and how much hype followed in its wake? It has spawned a number of major best-selling sequels that have been a phenomenon among PC gamers. And do you remember thinking “this game is missing something?” Of course, and that something was zombie hordes and AK-47s. At least that is what you should have thought, and finally, all these years later, The Last Stand: Dead Zone has incorporated the routine nature of daily life surviving in a post-apocalyptic city with holocaust level death. It’s as if “The Sims” was created by George Romero.

Your only hope is to band together with other live players online to increase your chance of survival. Clear debris to find tools and building supplies, go to different buildings to search for food, water, weapons and other survival gear and always keep on alert as you never know when the next wave of the insatiable walking dead will stumble out of nowhere with the sole intent of cracking your skull open like an egg and eating the goodies inside. The tasks you assign your custom designed player to will take time so you definitely won’t want to try and go it alone for long. Finding the right friends to help formulate an effective strategy of survival is the key to getting through each level and searching for a cure, if it exists.

The diehard fans of the zombie gaming genre will not want to miss this one. The Last Stand: Dead Zone isn’t just a shooter, it really tests your skill and brain power and incorporates a number of realistic options to help you survive. Upgrade your hideout, weaponry and level of comfort and plunge into the unknown horrors of the zombie ravaged city.

UMAG 2

If you’ve ever wanted to fire and detonate a nuclear weapon from a tank or drop a load of deadly napalm on some poor unsuspecting dope (and who hasn’t?) then UMAG 2 will be a blessing among flash games. Prepare for tough, close quarters combat against hardened foes.

There are a number of different options for gameplay. So many, in fact, that choosing the game mode is as important as learning the basics of playing. This is essentially a multi-player game where you will face off against one or a number of live opponents in a small arena. The rules are easy enough to learn: fire upon, detonate and obliterate every tank on the screen that is not yours or your allies. You can harm yourself and friends so careful aim is an important skill. You can earn experience points, change and upgrade your tank and choose between a number of different weapons to fire from the tank (the Auto Cannon and Impact MIRV fire an impressive chain of explosives that war game fans will love).

There have been a number of comparisons between UMAG 2 and other game but really this game is more reminiscent of Bowman 2 than any other. If you’re not a fan of Bowman then don’t worry, this comparison is only relevant to the skill required to win, not to actual gameplay or graphics (there are no stick figures in UMAG 2). You’ll need a good feel for gravity and range to perfectly rain down death on other tanks that may not be open to direct attack. This is a super-charged tank game of targeting and the requirements to win are skill, a steady hand and a passion for massive explosives. If you qualify, this game will not disappoint. Rating: B+

CycloManiacs 2

CycloManiacs 2 is a fun and easy to play Flash motorcycle racing game that features a wide variety of bikers to play as and compete against. You gain rewards by finishing tracks fast and for doing a lot of stunts. Between races, you can upgrade your bike so that you can get do better stunts and ride faster. Finishing specific races and meeting their requirements will unlock numerous secrets such as new courses, more characters and a few mini games. 

The area in the game where all the tracks are held is called Ninja World. Inside Ninja World are 25 different tracks, each with a different goal to complete the race in. Some of the goals are to finish in a certain time, perform a certain number of stunts within the race or just finish in first place. Overall Cyclomaniacs 2 is fun, provides a decent challenge and can be addicting once you get started. 

The controls are rather easy to get used to. You can either use the WASD keys for movement or the cursor with your mouse. The W key makes you go faster, S puts your bike in reverse, and the A and D keys are for bringing the nose of your bike either up or down. The pitch using the A and D keys is essential for performing the stunts and flips. 

CycloManiacs 2 proves that a flash game can be successful and even more fun than the original. It has improved on everything that made the original Cyclomaniacs a huge success as well as giving players plenty of new content to enjoy. I had a lot of fun discovering all the secrets and easter eggs that were hidden among the various tracks. It made the game more fun to play over and over as I came to discover new things that I had somehow missed previously. What are you waiting for?
